Where We Work
We're based at 588 San Ramon Valley Blvd in Danville, and most of our calls come from right around here. That includes homes near Diablo, about 2 miles off, Blackhawk 3 miles out, and Alamo 4 miles up the valley.
We also get calls from Norris Canyon, Camino Tassajara, and San Miguel, all within a 6-mile stretch, and we'll travel further out to Moraga or Clayton at 9 miles, Lafayette and Fairview at 10, and points further west like Orinda, Pleasant Hill, and Martinez when the job fits our schedule. If you're out past Oakley, El Cerrito, or Albany, give us a call anyway - we'll tell you straight if it's a reasonable drive or not, rather than quoting you a number we can't stand behind.
What We Actually Do
We work on garage doors and the hardware that runs them: torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, tracks, hinges, and openers. A lot of what we see traces back to the age of the housing stock here - the service area runs from houses built in 1938 up through 2008, with a median build year around 1972 and most of the stock dating to the 1960s and '70s. That means original hardware that's been rebuilt once or twice already, and openers that are on their second or third motor.
We handle spring replacement, cable repair, track alignment, opener installation and repair, and panel and roller replacement. We don't do gate systems or commercial roll-up doors - if that's what you need, we'll say so up front instead of taking the job and figuring it out later.
What Happens After You Call
When you call (925) 540-3207, we ask what the door is doing - won't open, makes noise, sags on one side, opener runs but nothing moves - and we ask the age of the door and opener if you know it. That gets us most of the way to a real estimate before anyone drives out. What we can't price over the phone is anything that needs eyes on it: a spring that's the wrong size for the door, hidden rust or wood rot on the track mounts, or a panel that's been hit and might have bent the frame underneath it.
Those get a firm number once we're standing in front of the door, not before. We'd rather tell you 'I need to see it' than guess and be wrong at your driveway.
Who You Are Dealing With
There's no origin story here, and we're not going to invent one. What we can tell you is what we work on and where: garage doors and their moving parts, across the Danville area and the surrounding towns listed above, in a mild temperate climate that's generally easy on hardware compared to places with real freeze-thaw cycles or heavy salt air.
That's part of why doors here tend to fail from age and use rather than weather damage. If a repair isn't worth doing - say, a door old enough that parts are hard to source and a new one makes more financial sense - we'll tell you that instead of patching it and sending you a bill for a fix that won't last.
