Where We Work
We're based at 588 San Ramon Valley Blvd in Danville, and most of our calls come from right around here. Diablo is about 2 miles out, Blackhawk is 3, Alamo is 4, and we get regular calls from Norris Canyon and Camino Tassajara, both roughly 5 miles from the shop. San Miguel, about 6 miles off, rounds out our closest regular coverage.
We don't advertise as a county-wide outfit - we stick to the towns within a short drive of San Ramon Valley Blvd so we're not burning half a day in traffic between jobs. If you're outside that ring, give us a call anyway and we'll tell you straight whether it makes sense for us to come out. The mild temperate climate here means we're not dealing with the frozen track or ice-jammed opener calls you'd get further inland or up in snow country - our service calls skew toward wear, not weather extremes, though sun-baked rubber seals and dried-out lubrication still show up plenty.
What We Actually Do
Springs, openers, tracks, cables, rollers, panels - the stuff that actually breaks on a garage door. A lot of the homes in this area were built between 1938 and 2008, with the bulk of the stock going up in the 1960s and 70s. That means a good share of our calls are on doors and hardware that are original or close to it: torsion springs sized for panels heavier than what gets installed today, openers with chain drives from a couple owner-cycles back, or tracks bent from decades of use.
We work on doors from that era as well as newer installs. What we don't do is pretend every door is worth saving - if a panel's rusted through or an opener's obsolete enough that parts are a special order with a long wait, we'll tell you replacement beats repair and explain why, rather than billing you for a patch job that fails again in six months. That's the one honest limitation worth stating up front: some jobs just aren't worth fixing, and we'd rather say so than take the money.
